It doesn't matter where you were, what you were doing, or how important it was. Suddenly you find yourself surrounded in white. Stripped of weapons, technology, and given only a PDA and a collar that seems to drain your very skills and abilities.
Welcome to The Facility.
You didn't choose to be here. You were chosen by the Consortium, a mysterious group who oversees the Facility and subjects you to experiments. You are under the ever watchful eyes of Val, the artificial intelligence acting as your new, more direct overseer. Why? Nobody is quite sure. What will you face? You could be be dealing with nothing but icy, slippery floors one week and another you could be having to face down everything you never wanted to admit to yourself.
The good news is that you're not alone. The bad news is also that you're not alone. There are many kinds in Facility - from raging psychopaths to the purest of hearts. To those that could lay planets bare in their wake to the kids who obviously skipped gym class during school. Don't worry, everyone is equal here, more or less. No matter who you are, or where you came from, you're a lab rat. A lab rat hoping to escape from this evil, impenetrable maze.
And that's only the inevitability that begins to sink in when you first arrive. Soon you experience the incredulous nature of the interns' observations, the thrilling experience of being brought back to life after picking a fight you couldn't handle(or perhaps just getting in the way of someone too strong for you), and the creeping dread of seeing those few you have gotten acquainted with show up on the mysterious "terminated" list due to poor or no performance. They say those that are terminated are incinerated and used to fertilize the biodome, but when Val and the Consortium control the information, everything is suspect to scrutiny.
You can't escape, resistance is minimal, and you're forced to jump through hoops so you can simply stay alive. So relax, have fun, and whatever you do, don't be boring.
Because lab rats who provide no useful data provide no use to the Consortium.
